Access Help

If you have a Tippecanoe County Library card you can read the latest news from the Lafayette Journal & Courier and the Indianapolis Star remotely by going to https://tcpl.lib.in.us.

On a laptop: In the menu at the top under "Research" select "Databases". Scroll down and select "Proquest" then click on "View Proquest".

On a tablet/phone: Click on the "Go to" menu and select "Research", then "Databases".  Scroll down and select "Proquest", click on "View Proquest".

  1. Enter your username (library card number) and password.

  2. On the Proquest page click "All sources" and select "Newspapers" then click "Apply".

  3. You'll be taken back to the search bar.  Here you can type in a headline, or the name of the paper.  If you type in the name of the newspaper sort by "Most recent first" to be taken to today's edition.

If you don't have a library card you can access last month's and older copies of the Lafayette Journal & Courier and the Indianapolis Star at https://www.inspire.in.gov/.  Scroll down and click on Newspapers.com to go to "Papers in This Collection".  Links to the Star and the J&C are in the top selections.

Pro-tip: anyone can read Dave Bangert's Based in Lafayette Substack without a subscription by going to either Tippecanoe County Public Library or The Library West Lafayette and using the libraries' computers.
