Join GLDSA for our 7th Annual May Day Celebration. May Day, also known as International Workers Day, is an internationally recognized holiday honoring the sacrifices and victories of the labor and socialist movements. Food will be served, and we encourage attendees to bring a dish if you can.

This year, as we remember the fights of the past, we will also be strategizing about the future. As the systems of international capitalism and imperialism unleash mounting chaos, one thing we can be certain of is that the year 2028 will be crucial for the international labor and socialist movements. Labor leaders, including Shawn Fain of the UAW, have thrown down the gauntlet and called for a general strike in the United States with a target date of May Day 2028. A major goal of our celebration this May 2nd is to discuss what direction our organizing efforts should take locally to be prepared for this momentous challenge.
