Learn and Sing Songs of Resistance, Resilience and Courage
Specific location: Event Room at Mama Inez
Across Minneapolis and elsewhere in this country, thousands of people have begun singing to protest injustice, strengthen community, and passionately express anger and grief, courage and hope. Join with others in the Greater Lafayette community as we peacefully express our determination to protect the rights of all people and resist rising authoritarianism. Singing together is good medicine for feelings of isolation, anxiety, and despair!
No experience is needed and all voices are welcome. The songs are short, easy-to-learn and taught by ear. Keep these songs in your pocket so you can sing along at future rallies and demonstrations including the March 28 No Kings event.
This is not a performance, it is a collective action showing that when systems fail us, community will not. Think of collective singing as a “technology of belonging.” It builds bridges between strangers, turns grief into strength, and transforms anger into action.
The event is hosted by Blue Moon Rising and Greater Lafayette Indivisible.
This is a free event.
